Installation & Usage Precautions
To ensure optimal performance, long-term stability and perfect tiling effect of the XPS foam tile backer board, please follow the professional operation guidelines during construction.
Base Surface Requirement: The installation base wall and floor must be flat, solid, dry and free of dust, oil and loose debris. Uneven substrates need to be leveled in advance to avoid board hollowing and deformation after installation.
Professional Cutting Operation: The board can be cut with utility knives, saws or electric cutting tools. Keep the cutting edge flat and neat to ensure tight splicing. Avoid violent knocking or bending the board to prevent damage to the internal fiberglass mesh and surface cement coating.
Standard Bonding & Splicing: Use professional tile adhesive or thin-set mortar for pasting. Fully coat the board back and base surface evenly to guarantee full bonding. Reserve reasonable expansion joints during board splicing to adapt to temperature changes and prevent cracking.
Waterproof Reinforcement for Wet Areas: For showers, swimming pools and long-term humid environments, seal all board joints, cutting gaps and wall-floor corners with professional waterproof sealant to enhance overall waterproof integrity and prevent water seepage.
Construction Environment Limit: Install at normal ambient temperature, avoid construction in extreme low temperature or long-term direct sunlight exposure. Do not use corrosive chemical solvents to clean the board surface, so as not to damage the protective coating.
Post-construction Maintenance: Keep the installed board dry and ventilated before tiling. Avoid heavy impact, extrusion and long-term water soaking within 24 hours after installation, ensuring stable adhesive solidification and firm substrate combination.
Load-bearing & Usage Specification: This product is specially used as tile backing insulation substrate. Do not use it for structural load-bearing, overhead heavy hanging or outdoor long-term exposed use without professional anti-weathering treatment.
